HAROPA Port, also known as le Havre, posted an 8.8 per cent first half tonnage increase to 41.95 million tonnes, as well as a 16 per cent year-on-year increase in container traffic to 1.46 million TEU, reports Colchester's Dry Cargo International.
At 4.89 million tonnes, cereal exports were up +38 per cent over the first six months of the year. The solid bulk sector recorded a total of 7.11 million tonnes at the end of June. This represents an increase of 14.2 per cent, mainly driven by agro-industry.

With 8.72 million tonnes, the 2023/2024 export campaign ranks 5th among HAROPA Ports best cereal campaigns. Final tonnage was up + 1.8 per cent on the 2022/2023 campaign.
HAROPA Port's market share of French maritime cereal exports remains stable at 52 per cent. With this good result, the five-year average rises to 8.2 million tonnes.
Milling wheat accounted for 5.92 million tonnes, barley for 2.66 million tonnes (including 1.84 million tonnes of feed barley and 0.82 million tonnes of malting barley). Other exports (durum and feed wheat) totalled 0.14 million tonnes.
The Maghreb remained the leading destination with a total of 3.25 million tonnes, ahead of Asia with 2.55 million tonnes, and West Africa set a new record with 1.42 million tonnes (against 1.1 million tonnes previously).
