EVERGREEN Marine Corporation has recorded a doubling and tripling of some key metrics in the first half and second quarter of 2024.
The Taiwanese carrier boasted H1 (to June 30) sales of TWD194,967.27 million (US$6.0 billion), up 45 per cent compared to TWD134,211.27 million a year ago.
Net income for 1H 2024 was TWD46,841.13 million compared to TWD10,134.96 million in H1 2023, a near tripling, reports Australia's Daily Cargo News.
For the second quarter, the company reported sales of TWD106,328.61 million this year compared to TWD67,384.62 million in 2Q 2023. Net income was TWD29,458.88 million compared to TWD5,092.25 million a year ago.
Details of carryings for H1 2024 were not released.
The EMC board of directors also announced the company intends to purchase up to 100,000 TEU of new containers: 'The price and the counterparty will be announced in accordance with the provisions after the contract is signed,' the company said.
