Wan Hai teams up with 4 carriers to offer east China-India serviceTAIWANESE container shipping line Wan Hai Lines will team up with four carriers to operate a new cargo service between east China and India, starting January 23.The new service will be operated jointly with Cosco, Interasia Lines, Orient Overseas Container Line and X-Press Feeders Group of Singapore.Wan Hai said the five companies are confident India will continue to achieve robust economic growth after recording seven to eight per cent growth over the past two years, and replacing the United Kingdom as the sixth largest economy in the world, reported The Central News Agency (CNA).The new east China-India route is expected to help many Taiwanese firms operating overseas tap opportunities stemming from India's economic growth.The service dubbed CI3 route will operate once a week on the following port rotation: Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Shekou, Singapore, Port Klang, Chennai, Kattupalli, Port Klang, Singapore, returning to Shanghai, Wan Hai said.Each round trip will take 35 days, with five 4,250-TEU vessels deployed on the new route. Wan Hai will provide two of the vessels, Cosco and Interasiaone each, and OOCL and X-Press will jointly provide the fifth box ship.
