Russia's Novorossiysk seaport changes mooring proceduresOIL terminal Bheskharis IPP, fuel oil terminals and NLE at Russia's Novorossiysk commercial seaport are implementing a new procedure for mooring and unmooring operations.Starting from January 1 2018, the terminals will send their own representatives, or "mooring masters", on board each ship to ensure safe berthing and unberthing operations. The mooring master will be required to board the ships together with a pilot to supervise mooring and unmooring operations. The mooring masters will have the authority to stop operations and manoeuvring in the event such activities are deemed unsafe, reported GAC Hot Port News.
