NEBRASKA Republican Congressman Mike Flood has introduced bipartisan legislation supporting corn growers and the biofuel industry, reports the Norfolk, Nebraska Daily News.
Along with Louisiana Democrat Congressman Troy Carter, they launched the sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Information Act, which would require the US Energy Information Administration to include sustainable aviation fuel in its weekly and monthly reports, aligning it with the other fuel types regularly tracked by the agency.
'Nebraska is the second largest producer of biofuels in the nation, and we're constantly working to grow our bioeconomy,' said Mr Flood.
'Sustainable aviation fuel is an incredible growth opportunity that can help expand the biofuels industry and our rural economy,' he said.
