SIGNING-ON crew boarding their vessel within 24 hours will be immediately transferred to the vaccination centre upon arrival in singapore and directly taken to their ships after vaccination, reports London's Tanker Operator.
Vaccination will be offered to unvaccinated seafarers as well as seafarers who have taken their first Moderna vaccination shot 21 days before arrival in Singapore.
Singapore's newly launched Sea Crew Vaccination Initiative (SEAVAX), which extends Covid vaccination to eligible groups of non-resident foreign sea crew voluntarily.
'Vaccination is gradually becoming a mandate in the maritime industry. SEAVAX contributes to the population of vaccinated seafarers - facilitating their continuous employment after signing-off, and offers new jobs for crew looking to return to sea,' said Marine Online CEO Edmund Chik.
'The industry's recruitment is tremendously eased with Marine Online's platform filled with qualified professionals across the wide spectrum of maritime operations,' said Mr Chik.
Said Marine Online crewing deputy general manager Peggy Yang: 'Our platform is rich with experienced maritime professionals looking forward to their next voyage. Registered users are consistently increasing, and over 41,000 are actively looking for assignments.
'Additionally, our AI and big data embedded interface can perform swift and smart matching even with customised skill sets. Employers can enjoy a seamless recruitment experience with Marine Online,' said Ms Yang.
Vaccination is voluntary and by informed consent. Companies will pay for the vaccination of their seafarers. The vaccinations will operate from 2-8pm Monday to Sunday. The last timing to accept seafarers for vaccination will be 7:30pm.
