MALAYSIA's AirAsia Group is in early acquisition talks for air cargo carrier Raya Airways to help its logistics business, reports Reuters.
The airline approached Raya Airways owner Ishak Ismail to acquire the carrier, and are in early conversations.
AirAsia and Raya Airways did not respond to requests for comment.
AirAsia's logistics unit Teleport declared in November it was aiming to expand its fleet of cargo planes and scale up its freight business.
Raya Airways top executives were not keen to sell the carrier, since they have plans for an initial public offering.
