SWISSPORT has launched cargo handling services at Milan Malpensa, strengthening its footprint in Italy, reports the UK's Air Cargo Week.
The new facility is a 4,000-square metre warehouse at the WTC Malpensa complex, refurbished to meet customs, safety, and security standards.
Initial operations will focus on import handling, pre-customs clearance, and express distribution.
Phase two will expand services to export operations and general cargo.

In 2024, Swissport handled five million tonnes of freight at 117 global air cargo centres.
Many Swissport warehouses are certified under IATA CEIV Pharma and the UK's MHRA for pharmaceutical logistics.
The company is active at 279 airports in 45 countries with a workforce of 61,000.
