LATAM Cargo has agreed a lease deal with cool-chain packaging specialist Sonoco ThermoSafe for its Pegasus temperature-controlled ULD bulk shipping containers, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The deal will enable pharma freight forwarders to access Pegasus ULDs directly from Santiago, Chile-based latam Cargo.
The Pegasus ULD is approved by both the US Federal Aviation Administration (F) and the EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as a bulk temperature-controlled container for the transport of pharmaceuticals.
Said LATAM Cargo product development chief Daniela Vial: 'We believe the Pegasus ULD will be a great addition, so our clients have more options from which to choose the perfect packaging solution for their high-value shipments.'
Said Sonoco ThermoSafe's Bulk Rental Group partner Bourji Mourad: 'We are delighted LATAM Cargo will fly the Pegasus ULD and make the unique containers available on worldwide routes in their pharma services programmes.'
