IATA data shows air cargo sector as useful barometer

IATA data highlights air cargo as a key indicator of both intra-regional and global trade and economic trends, reports IATA.

In 2024, air cargo emerged as the strongest performing sector for airlines worldwide, with Africa experiencing significant growth.



According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in its latest market report, African airlines recorded an 8.5 per cent year-on-year increase in air cargo demand, while capacity expanded 13.6 per cent.
