The gutted wreck of the 'Norman Atlantic' has left berth 12 at the cruise terminal of the port of Bari on June 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. It had been docked there on Feb 14, 2015. The ship was towed to berth 30 at the expense of the owners, where it will remain there until the end of the criminal proceedings. The operation was coordinated and directed by the Port Authority of Bari with the operational and logistical support of the Port Authorities of the southern Adriatic. In the fire on December 28, 2014, 12 people died and 64 were injured while 19 of the over 500 passengers were still missing. In the investigation there 32 suspects. 30 individuals and two companies, have been accused for various reasons such as involuntary cooperation, culpable homicide, multiple injuries and numerous violations of the navigation rules.
