THE Valencia Containerised freight Index (VCFI) grew 9.19 per cent in July, standing at 3.427,43 points, an accumulated increase of 242.74 per cent and the highest figure since the start of the series in January 2018, reports Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide.
As for fuel prices, the price of Brent crude oil rose 2.75 per cent in July from US$73.16 to 75.17 dollars per barrel.
The average price of Intermediate Fuel Oil (IFO) 380 rose from $438.50 per tonne in June to $448 per tonne in July, an increase of 2.16 per cent.
Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) increased from $555 per tonne in June to $559.50 per tonne in July, an increase of 0.81 per cent.
Latin America Pacific had the highest shipping price increase at 24.87 per cent, followed by Central America and the Caribbean 14.54 per cent and the United States and Canada at 7.48 per cent.
