THE civil Aviation Ministry has announced streamlined regulations for seaplane operations, allowing non-scheduled operators to offer these services and introducing a simplified certification process, reports New Delhi's Business Standard.
The eased rules aim to boost seaplane operations under the regional air connectivity scheme, UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik).
Seaplanes, typically amphibious aircraft that can take off and land on water, will no longer require a waterdrome license under the updated guidelines from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and compliance requirements have been reduced.
Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu noted that the revised regulations were developed after extensive consultations and careful planning.
