COMPANIES looking for alternative transport solutions to maintain their supply chains has prompted Austrian forwarder cargo-partner to offer its customers weekly charter flights from Asia to Europe, reports the American Journal of Transportation.
The cargo-partner's Czech branch previously handled significant medical shipments to contribute to the fight against Covid crisis.
The company organised the transport of 5.5 million antigen tests, with the first and most urgent 55-ton shipment was handled in just 72 hours.
A similar transport was completed in the winter of 2020, where cargo-partner chartered an Antonov An-124 to accommodate the size of the shipment.
Cargo-partner is offering regular charter services from Hong Kong to Budapest with two departures per week since Spring 2020.
They have also introduced weekly charter flights from Frankfurt to Zhengzhou and back, starting in June 2021, as well as a weekly part-load charter programme from Vienna to Chicago O'Hare.
Since spring, cargo-partner has been offering a new groupage service with weekly departures from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Munich, Frankfurt and Vienna.
The company has also received numerous ad-hoc requests for full and part-charter flights to transport urgently needed goods.
Meanwhile, the Slovakian cargo-partner team recently organised two successful emergency charters from northeast China to Slovakia for an automotive customer.
