The "Morning Compass" was seized by militants of Marshal Khalifa Hafter, a strongman from Susah in Eastern Libya, in Libyan waters, while enroute from Incheon to Misrata with more than 5,000 Korean KIA and Hyundai cars on board. The aims of the militants were unclear. They warned vessel not to enter Libyan waters before boarding it on Feb 18, 2017. The ship was taken to Susah with the last known position at 6 p.m. in 32 57N 022 10E, off Susah, proceeding at a reduced speed of seven knots.
