In the morning of May 28, 2018, the 'Lemwerder II' suffered a cylinder, with which the hydraulics of the ferry ramp was served. The ship had to be taken out of service, and because now only one ferry was left between Vegesack and Lemwerder, there were traffic jams and waiting times on both sides of the Weser. The amount of damage to the 'Lemwerder II' was still unclear. The ferry berthed at the Fassmer shipyard, where it was to be lifted out of the water by a crane.
