Geodis has partnered with WFS for a five-year contract for E-commerce and Freight Forwarder Handling services at Brussels Airport.
Geodis has awarded Worldwide Flight Services a five-year contract to provide E-commerce and Freight Forwarder Handling services at Brussels Airport, reported London's Air Cargo News.
The SATS-owned ground handler now offers its EFFH solutions at Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, Liege, Madrid, and Stockholm, as well as at 12 airports across France, including Paris CDG. Services include preparing freight for carriage, capturing weight and measurements, crating, repacking, security screening, consolidation, labeling, and transport between forwarders and agents.
WFS also covers import deconsolidation, sorting, customs clearance preparation, and onward road transport. Geodis has transferred all freight consolidation and deconsolidation requirements to WFS at Brussels, benefiting from a 24/7 operation and greater flexibility in cost and labor structures.
The GDP-certified facility for pharmaceutical shipments, featuring two cool rooms and 300 square meters of temperature-controlled space, was a key factor in the partnership, supporting Geodis' strong position in Belgium's pharma logistics market.
WFS managing director Belgium Philippe Torry stated that the company will provide Geodis with real-time visibility, documentation, and images to demonstrate service standards and support growth opportunities.
Geodis deputy managing director in Belgium Jean-Baptiste Elslander noted that both teams took a hands-on approach during implementation, ensuring a seamless transition. He praised WFS for its flexible solutions and quality service in a volatile market.
In April, Kuehne+Nagel also selected WFS to provide EFFH services at Frankfurt Airport, extending the handler's European footprint.
