Amazon Air unveils Odyssey, its first factory-built Boeing 767 freighter, enhancing its air cargo capabilities alongside sister aircraft Zenith and Soar.

Amazon Air has introduced Odyssey, its first factory-built Boeing 767 freighter in dedicated Amazon Air Cargo livery, alongside sister aircraft Zenith and Soar, reports Mumbai's STAT Trade Times.

Odyssey marks the first time Amazon Air has operated Boeing-produced 767 freighters rather than converted passenger jets. Each of the three new aircraft carries a distinct identity, reflecting the company's evolving air cargo strategy.

Zenith features Amazon Supply Chain Services branding, while Soar retains the original Prime Air design. Odyssey, painted in Amazon Air Cargo colors, represents the brand under which Amazon sells freighter capacity to third-party forwarders and shippers.

Amazon Air operates more than 100 aircraft and runs over 250 flights daily across North America, Latin America, EMEA, and Asia. The fleet includes Boeing 737s, Boeing 767s, and Airbus A330s, all flown by partner airlines under ACMI agreements.

Current operators include Air Transport International, ABX Air, Sun Country Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, 21 Air, ASL Airlines Ireland, AmeriJet International, and Quikjet. Atlas Air, the original launch partner, exited its role in May 2025.

Amazon Air began in 2016 as Prime Air, later rebranded to avoid confusion with its drone program. The Amazon Air Cargo unit launched in 2024, opening capacity to outside shippers and doubling its customer base within a year.

With Odyssey, Zenith, and Soar now flying, Amazon has placed its brand evolution on display across a single aircraft type, highlighting Prime Air's legacy, broader supply chain ambitions, and the commercial expansion of Amazon Air Cargo.
