    Turkey to take over command of CTF-151 to fight Somali piracy

    Turkish Naval Forces Command Secretariat General released a statement and said a Turkish Rear Admiral will take over the task to fight against sea piracy in the Gulf of Aden, Arab Sea and off the shores of Somalia in September 1 and December 1.

    Turkey will take over command of Combined Task Force (CTF-151) to fight piracy and carry out surveillance tasks for three months. Turkish Naval Forces Command Secretariat General released a statement and said a Turkish Rear Admiral will take over the task to fight against sea piracy in the Gulf of Aden, Arab Sea and off the shores of Somalia in September 1 and December 1. The takeover ceremony will take place in Mina Salman Pier in Bahrain Manama, and TCG Gokceada will serve as the command ship for three months. Turkish Naval Forces have sent ships to the region since February 2009.
