SpeedX has launched a new 200,000 square foot e-commerce and freight superhub near Chicago O'Hare International Airport, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The facility enhances SpeedX's network capacity and supports its ability to deliver one million parcels daily across the US.
The hub features a next-generation auto-sorter capable of processing 30,000 parcels per hour and up to 500,000 shipments daily during peak season. Expanded dock doors and floor space accommodate both parcel and freight shipments.
Founder and CEO Chris Zheng said Chicago is a prime global air gateway and a key hub for US e-commerce. He added the superhub strengthens operational control and supports SpeedX's strategy of connecting facilities nationwide through transcontinental linehaul.
The investment marks a milestone in SpeedX's US growth strategy, joining more than 50 new facilities opened in the past year.
US e-commerce sales have doubled over the past five years, with the industry expected to reach US$1.3 trillion in 2025 and $1.84 trillion by 2029.
