A Palau-flagged vessel carrying nearly 2,800 tonnes of maize was attacked twice by Russian forces near a port in Odesa Oblast, leaving two sailors missing, reported Ukraine's Pravda.
Mykola Kalashnyk, Minister for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport, stated that the civilian ship was struck as it departed the port. A fire broke out on board following the strikes.
Seven crew members and a Ukrainian pilot were rescued, according to early reports. Two sailors remain unaccounted for, and a search and rescue operation is underway.
