Hapag-Lloyd expands its India Europe Express service with a new Jeddah port call, enhancing trade links between Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
Hapag-Lloyd is expanding its India Europe Express (IEX) service. It will add Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as a new port call on the eastbound leg of the rotation. This move strengthens the service's link between Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent.
The IEX service connects key ports in India and Sri Lanka with major hubs in Southern and Northern Europe and North Africa. With Jeddah now included on the eastbound leg, the service gains a direct call at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's principal Red Sea port.
For cargo owners, the added call creates a direct ocean connection from Europe and North Africa into the Saudi market without separate routing arrangements. Shippers serving customers in the region can plan around a single, scheduled service rather than multiple connections. That supports more predictable transit planning and stronger delivery commitments.
The change also gives freight forwarders more routing options to offer clients. Importers and buyers gain an additional channel into one of the Middle East's most active trade markets.
Full rotation: Ennore -> Colombo -> Algeciras -> Rotterdam -> London Gateway Port -> Hamburg -> Tanger Med -> *Jeddah* -> Colombo
Customers shipping on the IEX service should review their booking plans with the revised rotation in mind. Local Hapag-Lloyd sales and customer service teams can provide effective dates, first vessel departures, and detailed schedules. Hapag-Lloyd's online schedule tools also provide up-to-date sailing information.
Adding Jeddah reflects Hapag-Lloyd's steady effort to align its network with evolving trade flows. By extending the IEX service into the Red Sea, the company reinforces a direct, dependable corridor between Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent.
