A 108-meter bulk carrier that was adrift due to a machinery failure in the Istanbul Strait has been safely anchored at the Büyükdere Anchorage.

In a statement from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, it was noted that 'the 108-meter bulk carrier named 'Lady Sham', which experienced a machinery failure while en route from Istanbul to Bulgaria near the Keçilik Bay in the Istanbul Strait, was prevented from drifting ashore with the intervention of our tugboat KURTARMA-11. The vessel was safely anchored at the Büyükdere Anchorage with the coordination of our Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services Center, under the guidance of our pilot captain, and accompanied by our tugboats KURTARMA-9 and KURTARMA-11.'
