A passenger boat crashed into the Kazasker Necmettin Efendi Mansion in Istanbul, causing damage but no injuries reported.
A passenger boat collided with the historic Kazasker Necmettin Efendi Mansion on the Kandilli coast and the yacht in front of it in the Istanbul Strait. It has been reported that there were no injuries in the incident, but the mansion's dock and the boat sustained damage.
On the night of October 6, a passenger boat crashed into the mansion on the shore and the boat in front of it in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul. According to incoming reports, there were no injuries in the accident. After the collision, residents of the mansion came outside, and the incident was captured on security cameras.
The boat first hit the yacht and then came ashore.
Reports sourced from IHA indicated that the passenger boat, which was on a Bosphorus tour, collided with the approximately 200-year-old Kazasker Necmettin Efendi Mansion owned by Derin Mermerci. Security camera footage showed that the boat first struck the yacht in front of the mansion and then proceeded towards the garden and dock area of the mansion.
The boat that came onto the dock of the mansion on Vaniköy Street in Kandilli knocked down the dock railings. It was noted that the boat then maneuvered in reverse and moved back into the sea. Damage occurred at the dock section of the mansion and on the boat in front of it.
Mermerci announced that she would initiate legal proceedings.
Derin Mermerci, who shared the accident footage on her social media account, stated that the dock was damaged and that her children were affected by the incident, indicating that she would file a lawsuit.
The cause of the accident has not yet been clarified. DHA reported the time of the incident as 22:30, while IHA sources reported it as 23:30. The examined news did not provide information regarding the name of the passenger boat, its operator, the number of passengers, or which dock it approached after the incident.
