The 98-meter-long bulk carrier named ANI STAR, traveling from Istanbul to Romania, experienced a machinery failure off Kandilli in the Bosphorus. The vessel was safely anchored at the Büyükdere Anchorage with the intervention of the Coast Guard General Directorate teams.
The machinery failure on the bulk carrier ANI STAR, which was navigating in the Bosphorus, prompted the Coast Guard teams to take action.
According to a statement from the Coast Guard General Directorate, the 98-meter-long ANI STAR, en route from Istanbul to Romania, encountered a machinery failure near Kandilli.
Following the vessel's malfunction, a salvage operation was initiated under the coordination of the Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services Center.
Two tugboats intervened during the operation conducted under the supervision of the pilot captain. The tugboat KURTARMA-6 accompanied the ANI STAR, while the tugboat KURTARMA-3 towed the vessel.
The bulk carrier, which was brought under control, was safely removed from the Bosphorus and taken to the Büyükdere Anchorage.
After the completion of the salvage operation, ANI STAR was safely anchored at Büyükdere.
In the statement made by the Coast Guard, there was no information regarding any adverse incidents during the operation.
