THE German Armed Forces Antonov 225 took off from Leipzig / Halle Airport on an aid flight to Windhoek in Namibia carrying medical supplies, reported Mumbai's Logistics Update Africa.
The medical equipment on board is for the fight against the corona pandemic. The freight consisted of 530 pallets weighing around 70 tonnes.
The loading of the AN 225 was taken over by PortGround, a subsidiary of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen specialising in aircraft and freight handling. Namibia is the former German colony of South West Africa.
