AIR cargo innovation across the industry was celebrated recently at the Air Cargo News Awards, which marked the 40th year of the event.
Nearly 250 guests gathered for the awards this year, hosted by comedian and broadcaster Zoe Lyons at the Royal Lancaster London hotel, where attendees were able to catch up with colleagues and friends while networking and enjoy a lunch followed an entertaining awards ceremony.
The Cargo Airline of the Year award went to Qatar Airways Cargo while Cathay Cargo was highly commended, said organisers.
The Innovation Award - sponsored by dnata - was won by Aurrigo International with judges highly commending Hong Kong's Asia Airfreight Terminal.
Both Awery Aviation Software and Saudia Cargo were highly commended for the Innovation Award - digital - which was won by Hermes Logistics Technologies.
Recognising that operations on the ground are integral to those in the air, the Cargo Hub of the Year category was sponsored by Air France KLM Martinair Cargo and won by Hong Kong International Airport.
And on the subject of ground operations, the American Airlines Cargo-sponsored Ground Handler of the Year award was picked up by dnata.
General Sales & Service Agents (GSSA) are another key part of the industry and the GSSA award was secured by FlyUs Aviation Group and sponsored by Etihad Cargo.
