AIR cargo handler Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has opened a new 8,700-square-metre facility at Brussels Airport that is part of a wider development project that will see a 50,000 sqm building added in the coming months for a total investment of EUR100 million (US$112.79 million) in the cargo zone over the next two years.
Brussels Airport Company chief executive Arnaud Feist said: 'This new ultra-modern building developed with two of our most important partners is important for the Belgian logistics sector,' reported London's Air Cargo News.
'It fits in perfectly with our strategy for the sustainable development of the logistics activities of Brussels Airport,' he said.
'These developments allows us to support the many companies that increasingly use Brussels airport for importing and exporting goods to and from the entire world, and this in an even more efficient and effective manner.'
WFS Northern Europe regional vice president Marc Claesen added: 'This new cutting-edge complex will allow us to continue to offer our clients efficient services with the best requirements in terms of safety and security while meeting the modern requirements of e-commerce and air transport of pharmaceutical products.'
