The 'Dunav 3', 1065 ts (EU-No.: 02312678), enroute from Nuremberg to Krems, suffered water ingress on the Danube near Winzer on Jan 21, 2018, at 6.30 p.m. The ship was sailing river downstream with a cargo of fertilizer and a crew of two on board when the master remarked water ingress upon entering the lock in Regensburg and alerted the fire rescue. The rescue forces secured the barge at the northern river shore and then started dewatering it with the ship's own and external pumps. At 7.45 p.m. the 'Dunav 3' was pulled into the lock at Pfaffenstein, escorted by fire boats and the water rescue. It was moored at the Oberpfalz Bridge where dewattering was continued until the morning of Jan 22. The fire rescue was on scene with 70 forces, joined by police and other helping hands. In the run of the day a special company would arrive to patch the leakages.
