TAIWANESE carrier Wan Hai Lines has shelved its option to purchase a further four 2,038 TEU feeder ships from China's Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard/China Shipbuilding Trading Company, after placing a firm order for 12 of these vessels in November with the CSSC-affiliated shipyard.
The November order includes eight 3,036-TEU vessels to be built at Japan Marine United (JMU).
This order also includes an option for an additional four sister ships, to be exercised within six months, Colchester's Seatrade Maritime News reported.
