RUSSIA's Far Eastern vladivostok Sea Fishing Port (Vladmorrybport) volume rose 66 per cent year on year to 35,100 TEU, a record high result exceeding the previous record achieved in April, reports St Petersburg's PortNews.
In January-May, the port's container throughput totalled 148,000 TEU, up 34 per cent year on year. Growth was driven by an increase in imports, up 102 per cent and exports, up 24 per cent.
Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port JSC is one of the leading ports in Russia's Far East able to handle up to five million tonnes of cargo per year including more than 200,000 TEU.
It is located on the southern coast of the nonfreezing Zolotoi Rog Bay. The quay line of 10 berths is 2,020 metres long with 10 kilometres of tracks and three locomotives to handle 71 rail cars a day.
In 2022, Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port handled 290,000 TEU, up nine per cent year on year including 27,000 TEU of refrigerated containers. Fish accounted for 50 per cent of the reefer boxes.
