US President Donald Trump says negotiations concerning a 'phase one' trade agreement with China were going well and that he hopes to sign the deal with Chinese President Xi Jinping at a US location when work on the agreement was completed.
According to Reuters, Mr Trump suggested on that the two leaders could sign a trade agreement in the farm state of Iowa, which has been dealt a heavy blow by the tariffs during a 16-month trade war between the world's largest economies.
'We're looking at a different couple of locations. It could even be in Iowa,' Mr Trump told reporters at the White House. 'We?re discussing locations, but I like to get deals done first.'
