THE united Parcel Service (UPS) has ordered nineteen 767 freighters from Boeing to meet long-term global demand for air cargo, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The 767 freighter carries 52.4 tons of revenue cargo with an intercontinental range, serving as a flexible platform for the long-haul, regional and feeder markets. UPS expects delivery of the freighters between 2023 and 2025.
'The Boeing 767 is the most versatile aircraft we operate,' said UPS operations chief Nando Cesarone.
'Since the programme was launched, UPS has recognised the value of the 767 freighter and utilised the airplane's outstanding cargo capabilities throughout its network,' said Boeing vice president Ihssane Mounir.
'These new jets will enable UPS to meet expected near-term and long-term cargo demand with the proven economics, reliability, and flexibility that are synonymous with the 767 Freighter,' he said.
