The Russian occupiers launched a missile attack on a Liberia-flagged bulk carrier KMAX Ruler (IMO: 9436642) entering the port in the Odesa region. As a result of the impact, Ukrainian pilot on the bridge died.This was reported by the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine. According to the military, the Russians fired a Kh-31P anti-radar missile in the direction of one of the ports of the Odesa region.
"The missile hit the superstructure of a civilian vessel under the flag of Liberia, at the moment of its entry into the port," the Southern Defense Forces clarified.
As a result of the impact, three members of the crew - citizens of the Philippines - were injured. One of them was hospitalized. The pilot was also killed, and another port worker was injured.
This is not the first time that Russian occupiers have attacked civilian vessels in the Black Sea. In particular, in 9 days in July, according to the Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, the Russians damaged five ships with shelling.Also recently, the head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, Nataliya Humenyuk, stated that the occupiers drop aerial bombs every day in the area where ships travel along the "grain corridor".We will remind that during the day of November 7, Russian troops opened fire on the civilian population in the Donetsk region 7 times, using aircraft, Grad rocket launchers and artillery, and one person was killed.Also, the occupiers regularly bombard the Nikopol district of the Dnipropetrovsk region with heavy artillery, resulting in frequent injuries and destruction.
