Due to bad weather, with strong wind, Turkish merchant vessel Efe Murat, driven ashore by the gusts and the heavy seas  on the south coast of Bari, Italy, near the beach of Pane e Pomodoro.
Port Authorities are at work on site.
A tugboat has tried unsuccessfully to approach the ship to hook it and tow it offshore.
The sea conditions - force 6 and wind at 35 knots - have so far not allowed to complete the operation.
Even the shallow sandy bottom makes the operations very complicated.
On board the ship there is the crew of 15. The ship is stranded on the shallow sandy bottom and crashes against the breakwaters.
The merchant Efe Murat left a few days ago from the port of Ortona, in Abruzzo, and was directed to Aliaga, in Turkey.
