Turkish Cargo bucks global trend as volumes rise 8.8pc in September

TURKISH Cargo's freight volumes rose 8

26 November 2019 - 19:00

TURKISH Cargo's freight volumes rose 8.8 per cent in September in stark contrast to WorldACD data that shows the global air cargo market as a whole contracted by 5.4 per cent.

The carrier pointed out that it was the only top 10 cargo airline to achieve a positive result, according to WorldACD data for September.

The Istanbul-headquartered air freight carrier has performed particularly well of late in the Far East and America markets, reported London's Air Cargo News.

Sustainable growth has been supported by new investment, as well as through the existing capacity of freighter flights to 88 destinations and the extensive network of parent flag carrier Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Cargo offers freight capacity to 300 destinations worldwide. It has 24 freighters and access to the bellyholds of Turkish Airlines' 346 passenger aircraft.
