A TRIPLE box ship collision reportedly occurred at Yokohama Anchorage off Nonmoku Terminal, at around midnight on Thursday, reported Kiev's Maritime Bulletin, which specialises in marine casualy reporting.
'Local sources didn't identify ships, including their types, and mentioned only their flags. Antigua-flagged ship, according to local sources, struck anchored US-flagged ship, and later, Liberia-flagged ship, also anchored,' said the report.
According to AIS tracks, three container ships were involved. Antigua-flagged 1,043-TEU Marcliff has just left Yokohama Nonmoku, bound for Nagoya, and collided with US-flagged 1,078-TEU APL Guam, which was either approaching port or dropping anchor, it's unclear.
