Temporary reduction of JIT transit slots to cross the Panama Canal ends
THE Panama Canal Authority has started accepting applications again for full just-in-time (JIT) transit slots for ships with beams of 91 feet and over to transit the major waterway, after the temporary reduction of the JIT transit slots announced in Advisory to Shipping A-07-2015 was cancelled.
The decision was based on the present number of vessels awaiting transit of the Panama Canal and projected arrivals over the coming days, reported GAC Hot Port News.
