TG Angola Airlines has initiated scheduled cargo operations departing from Dr Antonio Agostinho Neto International Airport in Luanda, reports London's Air Cargo News.
A weekly cargo service is now available departing from Luanda every Monday, connecting Angola to regional destinations including Lagos, Nigeria (LOS), and Brazzaville, Republic of Congo (BZV).
These flights are operated by TG Angola Airlines utilising their leased 737-800BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter), which was acquired in December.
'In January 2024, TG moved 1,000 tons of diverse cargo between domestic, regional, and international destinations,' said the airline.
The B737-800BCF boasts a cargo capacity of up to 23.9 tonnes, with 141.5 cubic metres of cargo space on the main deck and an additional 43.7 cubic metres on the lower deck for bulk cargo.
It also accommodates 11 pallet positions, capable of holding 10 contoured 96in x 125in pallets.
TG currently serves 18 destinations within Angola and 16 international destinations across South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. In addition to the 737-800BCF, TG's fleet includes two Boeing 737-700 passenger aircraft.
In partnership with Network Airline Management (NAM), TG operates a weekly 747F scheduled service from Liege to Luanda. NAM provides a 747-400F aircraft equipped with a nose door, capable of transporting up to 120,000 kilos of cargo on its core flight schedule.
TG's strategic focus is now on expanding its presence in both the African air cargo market and internationally.
