SWISSPORT has signed a seven-year lease agreement on a new cargo facility at Melbourne Airport (MEL), marking its first foray into the Australian market. The company aims to open the facility by the third quarter.
The new facility is 5,000 square metres and will include space for handling and storage of general cargo, animals, pharmaceuticals and perishables, New York's Air Cargo World reported.
Swissport said it also plans to expand its operations to more locations across Australia this year.
