SWISSPORT International has had a positive first half of 2018, with cargo volumes rising five per cent year on year to reach 2.3 million tons, reports London's Air Cargo News.
At EUR1.43 billion (US$1.66 billion), the handler's total revenues for the January to June period showed a 4.1 per cent year-on-year increase. Cargo revenue climbed 7.3 per cent to EUR200 million.
'Swissport continues to deliver value by focusing on profitable growth,' said group president and CEO Eric Born.
'A mix of organic growth, our acquisition of [Australia's] Aerocare, the disciplined restructuring of underperforming operations and the exit from continuously loss-making activities, contributed to the favourable results,' he said.
