SHANGHAI feeder boxship operator SITC has acquired the 2009-built 1,700-TEU Stellar Windsor from South Korean owner Laurus Ship Management, reports Singapore's Splash 247.
The Imabari-built vessel cost US$8 million, much lower than MSI's valuation of $10 million. It is the fifth vessel SITC has acquired this year.
Busan-based Laurus Ship Management has cleared out its owned fleet following the deal.
Alphaliner data shows SITC currently operates a fleet of 83 ships with total capacity of 120,470 TEU, making it the 17th largest containerline in the world.
