THE Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) received its first C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft earlier this month, marking the beginning of the replacement process for its aging C-130H Hercules fleet.
The arrival of the new plane, produced by Lockheed Martin, was celebrated on September 10 at rnzaf Base Auckland.
Air marshal Tony Davies highlighted the new aircraft's expanded capabilities, stating it will enhance New Zealand's tactical air transport capacity and offer more opportunities for international cooperation.
Wing Commander Bradley Scott shared that all five aircraft are expected to arrive by October.
The first C-130J has already begun operations, delivering cargo across New Zealand and integrating into the Air Force's logistics and search-and-rescue missions.
