Rimorchiatori Napoletani visited Sanmar Shipyard, Tuzla for inspection of their ordered vesselsItalian operator, Rimorchiatori Napoletani ordered two Sirapinar Class tugs in early May, 2017. This week, Mr. Gianni Andrea de Domenico (Chairman) and Mr. Carmine Malvone (Technical Officer) visited Sanmar Shipyard in Turkey to check construction, quality, planning and procurement process of the vessels. After the technical meetings and on site inspection, Mr. Gianni Andrea de Domenico said that, “We are very happy and satisfied with the actual construction status of the vessels. The construction continues as planned, the quality of the vessels is very satisfying. The vessels are being constructed as Sanmar Shipyard Tuzla, but we had the chance to visit Sanmar’s new shipyard in Altinova. We are highly impressed with the new shipyard. We had the chance to visit different tugboat series and mooring boats under construction. We hope to cooperate at other future projects as well,” he added. The Sirapinar Series builds on the success of the RAmparts 2400-SX Bogacay series, of which over 30 have been constructed, with bollard pulls ranging from 60 to 75 tonnes. The hull of the new 22m tugs, available in 45 to 60 tonne bollard pull versions, is similar to the larger model and can run astern at high speeds, whilst maintaining good control and directional stability in all directions.Measuring 22.40m overall with a beam of 10.85m and maximum draft of 4.67m the boats for Italy will be built to RINA class and Italian flag requirements and will be powered by pairs of 1500kW Caterpillar engines. These turn Schottel azimuthing Rudderpropellers to give a minimum of 50 tonnes bollard pull. The vessels will be delivered by the end of 2017.Photo From left to right: Orhan Gürün (Chairman of the Sanmar Denizcilik), Mr. Gianni Andrea de Domenico (Chairman of Rimorchiatori Napoletani)
