Renovated by UZMAR, research vessel DENAR-1 Delivered to Karadeniz Technical UniversityIt was delivered by Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) with a ceremony held for the KTU DENAR-1 Scientific Research Ship, which was towed to the shipyard for maintenance and repair 2.5 months ago.In order to serve the national and international studies of Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), the 32.47 meters long and 9.60 meters wide KTU DENAR-1 Scientific Research ship was towed to Sürmene Shipyard for maintenance and repair.Trabzon Deputy Governor Ali Yılmaz, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Maritime General Manager Ünal Baylan, KTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı, lecturers and many students attended.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, KTU Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı said, “We have gathered here today for the commissioning ceremony of our research ship. We have allocated separate funds for this. At that time, the tender was held, no one entered. As a university, we are a competent university on climate change. I hope this ship will be used in all kinds of work. I will follow what he produces and what he does annually. Connecting with the sea is an important step, but the rest is more important. 49% done. Speaking at the event, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Maritime General Manager Ünal Baylan said that the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu gave instructions for the repair of the KTÜ DENAR-1 scientific research ship. Baylan said“As our Ministry, we support education. We are aware that it is possible for our brothers and friends who will graduate after us to represent our flag at the highest level and contribute to the employment of our country, with the training they receive here. We continued our work in coastal areas for a long time with this boat. In 2014, we launched our fishing vessel DENAR, with a length of 33.5 meters. "With this ship, our field of work has expanded. We have applied to many projects with this ship." he said.Pointing out that the "DENAR-1" ship's seaworthiness period expired in 2019, Feyzioğlu said, "In this process, we encountered a pandemic and our ability to operate the ship was very limited. We have come so far and renovations were needed. For this, our Maritime General Manager helped us and sent us to UZMAR.
