THAILAND's regional Container Lines (RCL) has ordered an additional pair of 4,300-TEU ships from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong for this fleet expansion, reports Singapore's Splash 247.
The ships are priced at US$60 million apiece and are to be delivered in Q4 2027 and Q1 2028. This brings RCL to eight sister ships on order at the feeder-specialist yard.
Founded in 1979, RCL has been listed on the Thai Stock Exchange since 1988.
RCL currently stands 26th on Alphaliner's list of largest carriers, with 35 ships in its fleet totalling 78,854 TEU and 14 newbuilds.
