AN interline agreement has been signed between Oman Air and RedCargo Logistics, the cargo and logistics platform of AirAsia.
Under the terms of the agreement, RedCargo customers will gain access to belly space on Oman Air's network including to Africa, the UK and mainland Europe, reported London's Air Cargo News.
Oman Air customers will be able to book cargo space on AirAsia's network of 5,000 weekly flights across Southeast Asia, including key Oman Air destinations such as Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila and Jakarta.
RedCargo Logistics chief executive Pete Chareonwongsak was quoted as saying: 'This is a great example of how two airlines can work together to maximise e-commerce growth in the region. The ability to transport cargo from Asean to Africa, the UK and Europe has never been easier thanks to this partnership. We look forward to working with Oman Air to further grow our respective cargo businesses.'
Oman Air's senior vice president Mohammed Al Musafir said: 'With this interline partnership, we are confident of offering our customers a wider range of choice of destinations in Far East region with an extensive network of flights beyond Oman Air's expanding network.'
