QATAR Airways Cargo will begin offering online booking in India through the Octoloop portal developed by CargoFlash, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The new booking platform, which was launched on August 15, provides forwarders with access to real-time rates, instant confirmation, online booking and 'revenue enhancement options'.
Initially, qatar Cargo bookings will be available for flights from Delhi and Mumbai.
Faisal Karamat, vice president cargo customer experience at Qatar Airways Cargo, said: 'This tool will not only enhance our customer base but also support our growth ambitions in the Indian market. Digitalization is a key pillar of our strategy and by providing our customers in India with another option to book online via Octoloop, we are enhancing our omni-channel offering too.'
The carrier has been one of the market leaders in terms of online booking presence. Its capacity can also be found on cargo.one, CargoAi and WebCargo as well as its own booking portal.
Recently, the carrier expanded its digital offering by adding a new feature to its own portal that allows forwarders to book their allotments.
The development means that customers using the cargo airline's Digital Lounge system will be able to directly book allotments and gain instant confirmation of their bookings.
Until now, users of the portal have only been able to book individual shipments on the system, rather than use it to utilize some of their pre-booked contract capacity.
