NORTH China's Tianjin port has handled 4.63 million TEU of containers in the first three months of 2022, an increase of 3.5 per cent year on year, reports London's Port Technology International.
The figure marks a record high in container throughput compared to the same period in previous years.
The achievement comes despite the negative impact brought by Covid crisis outbreaks across China.
Tianjin is the largest port in northern China with 133 cargo routes and extending trade ties with 800 ports in 200 countries and regions.
Last August, Tianjin Port Group announced the project to build the world's first artificial intelligence (AI) zero-carbon terminal.
