THE US west coast Port of Tacoma has taken delivery of new super-postpanamax container cranes for installation at Husky Terminal's Pier 4. The cranes that stand 295 feet tall arrived on the Chinese vessel Zhen Hua 28 from Shanghai.
The equipment investment follows the reconstruction of Pier 4 to include an alignment with an adjacent pier to create one continuous berth capable of serving two 18,000 TEU containerships simultaneously, reported the Tacoma Weekly News.
Four other cranes arrived earlier this year, raising the number of Husky's cranes to eight.
